When it comes to being healthy, there are two habits that will define your success; eating and exercise. In fact, everyone that you know who is in great shape has dialed in these two important habits.
If you aren’t happy with your body, it's time to think about gradually making some adjustments to your eating and exercise habits.
Why wait until January 1?
It happens to the best of us, especially at the end of summer. All of that hard work that you did to get in "Summer Swimsuit Shape" has faded into the past after countless vacations, cook outs, and weddings. Those celebratory indulgences have added up over an entire summer, and you're left wondering where your summer body has decided to vacation.
But then your self dialogue to get back on track may start to sound a lot like: “I’m just so busy, but when things start to wind down, I’ll get started.” Or, “the holidays are almost here, and the end of the year is only a few months away, so I’ll really get going on my weight loss in the New Year.” However, you don't need to wait for the New Year to start on your fitness goals; In fact, it would be better if you didn't!
There are a million and more excuses for why you haven’t made your body a priority…yet. Let’s be honest with each other right now. The right time to get fit won’t ever magically appear. I’d like you to consider that the ideal time to get fit is RIGHT NOW.
Here’s to a Happy New Year and to getting everything that you want out of 2017!
With the New Year you have the opportunity to start with a clean slate and a brand new year spread out in front of you, filled with endless possibilities. How will you harness your potential to create the very best you?
We all now how important setting goals is when it comes to accomplishing a task. They are the carrots on the stick that keep us moving forward. But what if you’re not setting good goals? A GOOD GOAL? You may be asking yourself, “Isn’t any goal a good goal?” True, anything is better than nothing. But when it comes to setting goals, there is a way that will improve your chances of accomplishing them.
If you have ever tried to ignore a box of doughnuts at work, you know how hard it is to keep your hands to yourself and walk on by. And once you walk on by, the battle isn’t over. Even if you are in a different room and down the hall, you can’t stop thinking about those doughnuts.
So why is it so hard to resist something as small and seemingly innocent as a doughnut? It has to do with both habits—and mind set.
Believe it or not, fitness starts in your mind! Ask any athlete or fit person what the number one secret is to his or her fitness success, and their answer will likely be about commitment.
If you google (or bing) “motivational quotes”, you will notice that most of them reference working hard, dedication, perseverance, persistency, and doing. It should be no surprise then, that one of the cornerstones to succeeding in anything, especially your healthy lifestyle, is commitment.
You went away for vacation, saw a new part of the world, and now you’re back. While you were away, you ate, you drank, you relaxed, and then of course, you ate some more.
But now you are back...and it’s time to face the music. Here's how to get your healthy lifestyle back on track
It’s 3 in the afternoon and you can barely keep your eyes open. Your mind feels foggy, and all you want to do is curl up under your desk for 20 minutes and take a nap. But cutting-edge, productive people don’t take naps, do they?
Actually, they do.
It turns out that a nap is exactly what you need in the afternoons when drowsiness takes over your body and mind.
Have you ever seen a really impressive "before" and "after" photo? Of course you have. Now an even bigger question for you. Are you living life in your "before" photo or your "after"? Are you living in the body you have dreamed of, or have you just accepted the body you are in? If you aren't living in your "after" photo body, its time to remedy that. Here's how.
Feeling stressed? You’re not alone.
Stress is an inevitable part of our modern existence. Whether you’re the CEO of a large company, a Kindergarten teacher or a construction worker, you have stress to deal with. We all have bills to pay, relationships to maintain and challenges to get through, but you don’t have to let it get the best of you. How can you turn your stress-filled life on its head?
Have you ever seen someone with an amazing physique and wondered why they were in such great shape while you're left struggling with your weight? It doesn't seem fair that they have achieved what you want to achieve so badly as well. What are they doing that you aren't? What do they know that you don't? If you boil it down to the most basic level, the answer is quite simple. Fad Diet? Pills? Genetics??
Sure, a select few may have good genes, but if we really break it down, the real missing link between you and your ideal body is...MOTIVATION.
It's time to face the hard facts. The extra pounds you're carrying are due to your overeating habits - plain and simple. Too many calories in, and not enough out leads to weight gain. But why are you overeating? And how can you be more mindful of this and stop it?
It's happened to most of us. That moment in time we have finally had enough and decide something needs to change. Maybe it happened when you were on the scale and realized you need to lose weight. Perhaps you were looking in the mirror and decided you want to put on muscle. Or maybe you were just tired of being tired and no longer wanted to get winded playing with your kids.
Do you wish you could change something about your life right now?
I’m here to argue that change can happen in an instant.
